Privacy Policy
Watch Your Steps shows your step count, daily goal, recent history, and related progress on your Apple devices.
Health data
With your permission, Watch Your Steps reads your step count from Apple Health. It uses this data to show daily progress, Personal Pace, Goal Sprint, history, widgets, and Apple Watch features.
Watch Your Steps does not sell Health data, use it for ads, or use it to track you. It does not send Health data to RevenueCat. The app stores the daily totals and settings it needs in private app storage and its App Group.
If you sign in, the app sends your daily step total, daily goal, time zone, and update times to the Watch Your Steps server so it can show progress in private circles. It does not upload detailed Health samples or hourly step history. If you do not sign in, it does not send step progress to the server.
You can change Health access at any time in iOS Settings or the Health app.
Purchase and use data
Watch Your Steps uses RevenueCat to check feature access and purchase status. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user ID, purchase history for app functions, and product interaction data for analytics. The App Store privacy label lists purchase history and product interaction as data that is not linked to your identity. RevenueCat does not receive your Health data.
Accounts and private circles
An account is optional. If you create one, Watch Your Steps processes your email address, display name, sign-in credentials, email verification and password reset records, and session data. It uses this data to create and protect your account.
If you create or join a circle, the server stores the circle name, membership, private join code, and the daily progress shared with that circle. Other members can see your display name and shared daily progress. Circles have no public search, public profile, follower count, or messaging.
You can sign out without deleting your account. You can delete your account and its stored account data in the app under Settings, Account, Delete Account.
Support
If you email support, we receive your email address and the details you choose to send. We use this information only to answer your request and fix app problems.
Sharing
Watch Your Steps does not sell personal data. It uses Apple system services for Health, widgets, Apple Watch, Siri, Shortcuts, Control Center, and Live Activities. It uses RevenueCat for feature and purchase checks and the limited analytics described above. The Watch Your Steps server handles optional accounts, private circles, and the shared daily progress described above.
We require each service provider that handles app data to give it the same or equal protection stated in this policy and required by Apple.
Retention
Local app data stays on your devices until you remove it or delete the app. Account, circle, and shared progress data stays on the server while needed to run your account and circles. Deleting your account removes its stored account data, subject to short backups and records that the law requires us to keep. RevenueCat keeps its data under its own retention rules. Support messages remain only as long as needed to answer the request, meet legal duties, or resolve a dispute.
Your choices
- Change Health access in iOS Settings or the Health app.
- Remove local app data by deleting Watch Your Steps.
- Use the app to delete your account and stored account data.
- Ask us to delete a support message or help with a RevenueCat data request.
Send a request to help@watchyoursteps.app. We may need enough information to find the record and confirm the request.
Children
Watch Your Steps is not made to collect personal data from children. If you think a child sent personal data through support, contact us so it can be removed.
Changes and contact
This policy may change when the app changes. The updated policy will show a new date.
